About the Position

The college is seeking an experienced Design & Technology Teacher with strong capability in Woodwork to join the team from the beginning of Term 1. This permanent, full-time role involves teaching Design & Technology from Years 7–12, with a strong practical component.

The ideal educator will have demonstrated experience delivering workshop-based learning, managing safe tool and machinery use, and engaging students in hands-on, project-driven coursework.

Skills and Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and practical D&T lessons across Years 7–12

  • Confidently teach Woodwork and manage a safe workshop environment

  • Support students in developing design thinking, problem-solving, and practical craftsmanship

  • Maintain high standards of safety, risk management, and duty of care

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum, assessment, and project-based learning opportunities

  • Build strong relationships with students and families to support learning progress

Requirements
  • Registration: Applicants must hold or be eligible for QCT registration

  • Specialisation: Demonstrated experience in Woodwork is essential

  • Experience: Previous secondary Design & Technology teaching experience preferred

  • Work Rights: Full Australian working rights required

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding and safeguarding checks
