About the Position

This full-time ongoing position commences in Term 3, 2026 and involves teaching Design Technology and Woodwork within a secondary setting. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team committed to practical, hands-on learning experiences that develop creativity, problem-solving and technical skills. This role would suit an educator who enjoys engaging students through project-based learning and is passionate about preparing young people for future pathways in trades, design and technology-related industries.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Design Technology and Woodwork programs aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Foster a safe and productive workshop environment, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and risk management practices.
  • Develop practical learning experiences that build students' technical skills, creativity and critical thinking.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with staff to contribute positively to curriculum development, school initiatives and the wider school community.

Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Northern Territory Teacher Registration.
  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
