About the School
HARKE has partnered with a co-educational secondary school in Melbourne’s north-west seeking a Design Technology teacher for a long-term opportunity commencing in 2026. The successful teacher will join an experienced team and initially work collaboratively through a team-teaching approach, with the opportunity to move into an ongoing role following an initial 12-month contract.
Skills and Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons using both traditional and contemporary teaching methods
• Operate within a well-equipped workshop environment including 3D printers, laser cutters, saws and hand tools
• Build positive classroom culture through firm, fair and child-centred teaching practices
• Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, engagement and safety
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues within an established Design Technology department
Requirements
• Registration with or eligibility for VIT
• Full Australian work rights
• Ability to provide two professional referees and complete HARKE safeguarding onboarding
• Commitment to long-term contribution within a school community
