About the Position
The College is seeking a Design Technology Teacher to join its team from Term 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills and experience in Industrial Technology, including welding, woodwork and related workshop disciplines, with particular expertise in engineering and manufacturing processes. They will be confident working in workshop environments and capable of delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Design Technology and Industrial Technology programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, student safety and safe workshop practices when using tools, machinery and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues to support learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop practical, relevant and high-quality learning experiences.
- Demonstrate leadership within practical learning environments, encouraging students to develop technical skills, creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary teaching qualification.
- Current QCT registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Strong practical capability in Industrial Technology, ideally including engineering, manufacturing, welding and woodwork.
- Confidence managing practical classes and working safely within workshop environments.
- Support the College’s Christian ethos, recognising each student’s individual potential and fostering their development.
