About the Position
The Deputy Principal (Professional Practice & Staff Wellbeing) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing staff wellbeing, professional growth, and engagement across both campuses. This full-time, permanent role includes a three-year tenure and represents a key leadership opportunity within the college’s executive team.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior leaders to ensure staff feel supported, valued, and heard, while maintaining a culture of professionalism, trust, and wellbeing.
Teaching Load:

26 periods per fortnight (approximately one class)

Open to any teaching subject – selection will prioritise leadership capacity over teaching method
Key Responsibilities

Lead initiatives to promote staff wellbeing, including wellbeing days and related programs

Oversee staff recruitment, appointments, and placements

Manage and support the Director of Professional Practice and VIT Mentors

Provide a trusted and approachable point of contact for staff at all levels

Supervise a Personal Assistant providing administrative support to the role

Contribute to the college’s overall strategic and pastoral leadership
Candidate Profile
This position will suit an experienced school leader currently serving as a Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal, or Director, as well as emerging leaders seeking to progress into an executive leadership role.

Demonstrated experience in leadership, staff development, or wellbeing

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style

Alignment with Catholic values and ethos, and capacity to support the faith life of the school community

A personal or professional connection to the Church is desirable but not essential
Remuneration
Remuneration will reflect the seniority of the role and the large, dual-campus nature of the school. Salary will be significantly above classroom teacher rates and aligned with the relevant EBA classification.

Registration: Current VIT registration (or eligibility)
