About the School

HARKE has partnered with a not-for-profit independent specialist college on the NSW South Coast. The school provides education for secondary students impacted by trauma and adverse childhood experiences, with a strong focus on wellbeing, belonging and re-engagement with learning. The purpose-built campus offers flexible learning spaces and small class settings, supporting approximately 23 students across Years 9–12. A collaborative culture, high staff-to-student ratios and a wellbeing-led model underpin daily practice, allowing teachers to focus on teaching while dedicated wellbeing staff support student welfare.

About the Position

The school is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join the team on a permanent basis. Teachers work within a team-teaching model, with three staff in each classroom, allowing for targeted instruction and strong behavioural and emotional support. The role involves teaching across curriculum standards to secondary students, with no additional wellbeing caseloads. This position suits teachers with experience in special education, alternative education or learning support, as well as educators looking to transition into this space with structured training and support.
