About the Position

This full-time contract role, commencing in Term 3 for six months, involves teaching within a multi-year secondary classroom (Years 7–12), with the flexibility to support a multi-year primary class (Years 4–6) if required. The role requires an adaptable educator confident in differentiated teaching and experienced in supporting students with additional needs. Working within a small team of educators, the successful candidate will contribute to a consistent, high-performing teaching environment aligned with strong community values.


Skills and Responsibilities
  • Deliver differentiated, curriculum-aligned lessons across multi-year secondary classes, with flexibility across upper primary if required
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all students, particularly those with additional needs
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a respectful, collaborative team environment
  • Work closely with Aboriginal team teachers to support inclusive and culturally responsive learning
  • Demonstrate strong classroom leadership, maintaining high expectations and consistent student outcomes

Requirements
  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Northern Territory Teacher Registration
  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role
  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
  • Proven experience teaching students with special needs
  • Experience or strong interest in remote education environments
  • Ability to work independently within a small, high-performing team
