About the Role

This full-time Science / Biology Teacher position involves teaching across Years 7-12, including senior Biology. The school is ideally seeking an experienced teacher who can confidently deliver Science and Biology across all year levels; however, strong graduate teachers will also be considered where they demonstrate sound curriculum knowledge and confidence teaching from junior through to senior secondary. Qualified New Zealand teachers with Australian working rights are also encouraged to apply.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Science and Biology programs across Years 7-12.

  • Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.

  • Collaborate with the Science faculty to support curriculum planning, practical learning and consistent teaching practice.

  • Confidently support senior students in Biology while contributing positively to faculty and whole-school priorities.

Requirements

  • Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

  • Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach Science and Biology across Years 7-12

  • Experienced teachers are preferred, with confident graduate teachers also encouraged to apply

  • Qualified New Zealand teachers who meet VIT and Australian work requirements are welcomed

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
