About the Position
This full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 3 (or earlier by negotiation) is for an experienced English teacher ready to step into a leadership support role. A key part of the role involves developing and reviewing the Years 7–9 scope and sequence and course programs, and ensuring that teachers across the department are delivering the faculty-aligned curriculum. The Assistant English Coordinator will also teach English across multiple year levels. Stage 6 experience is essential, and the ability to teach Extension 1 is highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to curriculum leadership while maintaining strong classroom practice.
Skills and Responsibilities

Support the English Coordinator in leading curriculum planning, assessment, and pedagogy

Develop and review the Years 7–9 scope and sequence and course programs

Ensure teaching quality and alignment across Years 7–9 classes

Teach English across Years 7–12, including Stage 6 (Extension 1 desirable)

Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive school culture through effective communication and teamwork
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
