About the Position

This full-time position commences at the start of Term 3 and involves teaching Art, Visual Communication and Design, and other visual and design subjects across the secondary years. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and creative department committed to fostering artistic expression and design thinking in students. This is a fixed-term opportunity for Term 3 and 4, with the potential for ongoing in 2026.


Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver curriculum-aligned lessons in Art, Visual Communication and Design across Years 7–12

  • Ensure student safety and wellbeing in line with safeguarding practices

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support learning progress

  • Collaborate within the arts and broader teaching team to contribute to co-curricular initiatives

  • Inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through visual and design-based learning


Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT registration

  • Work Rights: Valid working rights in Australia are essential for this role

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
