About the Position

This role is fixed term until December 2025 and involves teaching Visual Art to students in Years 7–10. However, there is the potential for a VCE-level load from 2026 for a candidate who demonstrates interest and capability. While the current load is Years 7–10 Visual Art. The position is offered full-time, but 0.8 FTE will be considered for the right candidate.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Visual Art lessons for Years 7–10

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives

  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative in the Visual Arts domain, with opportunities for senior classes in the future

Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
